When should I report another user? The primary objective of this website and websites of its kind is to help single people meet. Unfortunately, there always will be unscrupulous elements who may want to use the site for other purposes, such as defrauding unsuspecting members.
This is why we have provided a way for you to report profiles that seem suspicious. But the question then arises as to what should be considered suspicious enough for you to report it to us.
The following should be used as a general guide:
- If a person's profile makes no sense, then it should be treated with suspicion. For example, a member who claims to work as a school teacher in Russia, but earns $120k a year is not realistic. Although that is not enough to report that person to us, you should be alert in your dealings with that user. Most importantly, never send money to anybody anywhere, no matter how convincing they seem.
- You should report a user to us immediately if you receive any form of threat against you. That is against our policies, and upon investigation to establish the validity of that threat, we would cancel that user's membership.
- Another scenario is when another user invites you to visit other dating sites. Such users are not interested in you. You should report them immediately to us.
- If you find more than one profile that is obviously from the same person, report it to us. There is no reason for anybody to have multiple profiles, unless he/she has an ulterior motive.
The bottomline is, use your discretion to determine what situation needs our attention, since we wouldn't like to receive trivial complaints.
If a user is merely being obnoxious toward you, simply block that user, and he/she would no longer be able to send you any more messages.
